1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of ShelfConnect (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Nature of the Platform
ShelfConnect is a home library and book discovery system that allows users to:
- create and manage library records
- add book information manually or through ISBN lookup
- publish selected information for public discovery
- send and receive inquiries
3. User Responsibilities
Users must:
- provide accurate information
- use the Platform lawfully
- keep account credentials secure
- avoid abusive, fraudulent, infringing, or misleading content
4. Privacy and Public Sharing
Users control whether selected details (for example address, email, phone, or map location) are public. Once information is made public, it may be copied, indexed, and reused by third parties.
5. Inquiries and Communications
Inquiries and replies are user-generated communications. The Platform does not guarantee their accuracy or accept liability for user-to-user arrangements.
6. Third-Party Data
The Platform may use third-party metadata services (such as ISBN sources) for convenience. Users must review imported data before publishing.
7. Moderation
The Platform may remove content, restrict accounts, or take moderation action where misuse, risk, or policy violations occur.
8. No Warranty
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator and software developer are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from Platform use.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
